A "Sustainable Living" Workshop

07 November 2009

Saturday 7th November

saw an informal consultation between business, community, education, and environmental acitivists.  We focused on barriers to collaboration between the various sectors in our society, and particularly in regard to businesses.

In each sector - or "box", "silo", "comfort zone" - as various participants labelled our traditional way of living -good work is going on to make for a more sustainable way of life.  Unfortunately there is little crossover between sectors, insufficient collaboration, and the danger that things may fall apart under pressure through lack of understanding and trust.

Some examples of good practice were discussed, and we are planning closer collaboration with groups such as that managed by Midlands Environmental Business Company (MEBC) and Midlands Eco Partnership (MEP) - further details of both on their respective web pages.

In the meantime - don't forget GREEN DRINKS which provides an excellent and enjoyable 'cross sector' meeting place!
